Please take notice the Village of Walden is seeking resumes/applications for a Deputy Treasurer/Junior Accountant.

Minimum Qualifications:  High School Diploma with 3 plus years of accounting/bookkeeping experience with emphasis in General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Payroll.  Municipal or Non-Profit Experience a plus. Customer Service and excellent written and oral communication skills needed as this position deals with the public. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with at least one year experience.  New grads will be considered for the position.

Job Duties: Answers telephone and in person inquiries from residents. Prepares weekly payroll for local government. Maintains all accounts payable records in compliance with NYS Municipal guidelines. Prepares Journal Entries as needed and prepares monthly bank reconciliation.  Assists in collection of fees, water sewer rents and tax bills.  The Deputy acts as Village Treasurer in their absence.  Performs other various clerical duties as needed.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook.  Salary to commensurate with experience.
