Auditing Services


This Request for Proposals (“RFP”) is official notification of the need for professional services to the Village of Walden (“Village”).  This RFP is being issued to request proposals from qualified independent certified public accountants or independent public accountants to audit its financial statements for the fiscal year ending May 31, 2018.  It is the Village’s responsibility, and not that of the auditor, to prepare all required components of the financial statements to be audited.  The audit is to be conducted in accordance with U.S. generally accepted auditing standards and the standards applicable to financial audits contained in Government Auditing Standards, issued by the Comptroller General of the United States.

All proposals must be written and must be substantially compliant with the requirements herein set forth. Proposals must be submitted to the Village Hall, One Municipal Square, Walden, New York 12586, in a sealed and secure package and must be received by 4pm on Monday, April 9, 2018.  Please prepare three (3) copies of the proposal.  The proposals will be opened at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Village Hall, One Municipal Square, Walden, New York 12586.

Any inquiries concerning this RFP must be in writing and should be addressed to Kelly Ann Kelly, Village Treasurer at  Inquires must be post marked by April 2, 2018.  Village responses to all inquiries will be distributed to each potential proposer.

The Village reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, to waive technical defects in the proposals to make an award in whole or in part, to disqualify any proposal that fails to conform to the requirements of the RFP and to select the proposal(s) and to negotiate the service delivery contemplated in this solicitation and in submitted proposals.

The Village reserves the right to retain all proposals submitted and to use any ideas in a proposal regardless of whether that proposal is selected.

During the evaluation process, the Village reserves the right, where it may serve the Village’s best interest, to request additional information or clarification from a proposer, or to allow corrections of non-material errors or omissions or waive non-material requirements.  At the discretion of the Village, firms submitting proposals may be requested to make oral presentations as part of the evaluation process.  If conducted, oral presentations will be scheduled with each proposer.

No subcontracting is allowed.
