The Leadership Day Awards Committee is again collecting nominations for this year’s Awards. The categories are as follows.
Volunteer of the Year – This will be given to an individual who shows outstanding volunteerism while displaying character traits that would make all of us as Village of Walden residents proud. This individual must either work or live in the Village limits and have a profound impact on our community and serve as an example for others to follow.
Ronald I. Jacobowitz Youth of the Year Scholarship – This award will be given to a graduating high school student who displays outstanding leadership, volunteerism, above average work ethic, and has shown to have a profound impact in their school and/or community. This individual must live within the Village limits.
Sam Phelps Service Award – This award will be given to an individual, group (not specifically an organized group… ex: father and son) for living a life dedicated to
public service. This service award is named after the late Sam Phelps for his spirit, philanthropy, volunteerism, and the great pleasure he took from giving back to his local
Community Business of the Year – This award shall be given to a Walden business that demonstrates outstanding community support and involvement, is dedicated to the betterment of our community while displaying leadership characteristics that encourage Village of Walden residents and businesses to do the same. This business must be located within the Village of Walden limits.
All nomination forms must be postmarked by November 28, 2011 OR submitted via fax, e-mail, or in person by Thursday, December 1, 2011 with attachments to:
