ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed proposals will be received by the Village of Walden at the offices of the Village Clerk, Village of Walden, 1 Municipal Square, Walden, New York 12586, until 10:00 am local July 7, 2020, for the “MAPLE AND WALNUT STREETS SIDEWALK REPLACEMENT “, and then at said office, publicly opened and read aloud.
SCOPE OF WORK: The work consists of the removal and disposal of existing sidewalk; installation of new 4,000 psi concrete sidewalk (4’ wide); installation of new 4’ wide 6” thick sidewalk across driveway entrances; removal and replacement of asphalt driveway aprons with new asphalt driveway aprons as directed by Village; removal and replacement of existing walkways as directed by Village with 4,000 psi sidewalk (width to match walkway); restoration of disturbed areas; installation of ramps and detectable warning panels at the intersections; and installation of cross walks, as described in the Contract Plans and Technical Specifications.

The said specifications MAY ONLY BE REVIEWED at the Village Clerk’s Office via appointment only due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Copies of the Contract Documents MAY ONLY BE OBTAINED at Lanc & Tully Engineering and Surveying, P.C., 3132 Route 207, Campbell Hall, NY 10916, Phone (845) 294-3700, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Persons shall leave name, correct mailing address and phone and fax number, along with a $75.00 deposit for each set. The deposit shall be in the form of check or money order ONLY, for each set, and shall be drawn payable to the Lanc & Tully, P.C. to be refunded in accordance with Section 102 of General Municipal Law. Addenda, if any will be issued only to those persons whose name and address are on the record as having obtained the contract documents. Bids will be accepted from only to those persons whose name and address are on the record as having obtained the contract documents.
Each bid shall be accompanied by an acceptable form of Bid Guarantee in an amount equal to at least five (5) percent of the amount of the Bid payable to the Village of Walden as a guarantee that if the Bid is accepted, the Bidder will execute the Contract and file acceptable Performance and Labor, Material Payment Bonds, and Certificate(s) of Insurance within ten (10) days after the award of the Contract.
OWNERS RIGHTS RESERVED: The Village of Walden, hereinafter called the Owner, reserves the right to reject any and all Bids and to waive any formality or technicality in any bid in the interest of the Owner.
STATEMENT OF NON-COLLUSION: Bidders on the Contracts are required to execute non-collusion bidding certificates pursuant to Section 103d of the General Municipal Law of the State of New York.
LABOR STANDARDS: Prevailing wages established under the Davis-Bacon Act will apply to this contract. The contract documents contain requirements addressing prevailing labor wage rates, labor standards, nondiscrimination in hiring practices, goals for minority and female participation, MBE and WBE participation, participation by Section 3 resident and businesses, and related matters.
EQUAL OPPORTURNITY CLAUSE: The bidder agrees to abide by the requirements under Executive Order No. 11246, as amended, including specifically, the provisions of the equal opportunity clause.
